Pipeline Developer

Animation Supervisor

Job Description and Responsibilities:
O Entertainment is currently looking for a talented and motivated Animation Supervisor to work on the “Back to the Barnyard” TV series (currently airing on Nickelodeon).

Your main responsibility will be to review shots sent from overseas studios and provide feedback to help complete the shots to the expectations of the Director. About half your day will be spent reviewing shots with the Director and Editor. You will need to be able to communicate clearly with the Director (through descriptions and acting) on all aspects of character performance.

The second half of your day will be spent providing feedback to the overseas animators. Currently this is mostly done with written notes, drawings, and character poses in Maya. A smaller percentage of shots will require you to act out performances or explain needed changes in front of a web cam (recording quicktime movies, not live).

Since this is a fairly fast-paced TV series, time management skills are essential. You will be working on several episodes at any given time with different Directors.

Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong understanding of the principles of animation.
• Good observational and acting skills.
• Good typing skills…you’ll be typing most your notes.
• Proficiency with Maya.
• Life drawing and traditional animation skills a plus.
• Production experience in film or TV.

Systems Administrator

This is a mixed computing environment consisting of Windows, OSX and linux operating systems. The candidate should be a person who is looking to expand in the areas of IT. The candidate will work directly with the Sr. Systems Administrators giving the opportunity to learn skills in desktop support, network troubleshooting and server management.

- Support and maintain windows servers and desktops

Production Assistant

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
Production Assistant will assist wherever they are needed on the Production. Their responsibilities vary considerably but will include: assisting with answering telephones, filing paperwork and data entry, arranging lunches, dinners, photocopying, general office administration, distributing production paperwork and acting as a courier.

Skills:
Production Assistant must be flexible and well organized, and be able to think on their feet. They should have strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to take orders, and to show tact and deference towards those in positions of authority and greater responsibility. They must be punctual and enthusiastic, understand the importance of taking detailed notes and recording expenditures accurately, and managing petty cash. They should be level-headed, and able to work calmly and effectively under pressure. The Production Assistant must be able to contribute to good working relationships, and to creating a positive atmosphere on the production. They should have good secretarial skills, be computer literate in standard word processor, spreadsheet and e-mail programs.

Qualifications/ Experience:
Enthusiasm is considered more important than experience. While there are no specific educational requirements, a good education is a definite advantage. A large number of colleges and other training providers offer Media courses that may provide a suitable background. Some experience in drama or broadcasting is also an advantage. Other responsibilities include preparing and taking shipments to Fedex, in addition to filling in wherever other departments may have need. Candidate must have vehicle available for runs and a valid driver's license is a required.

Modeling Supervisor


Job Description:

The Modeling Supervisor works to define and lead the modeling team overseas in the creation and implementation of all geometry and textured assets for production. Candidate will collaborate with the directors to create comprehensive mark ups on models and textures to maintain the highest quality as well as staying consistent with the Barnyard look. Address director notes in house as needed within Maya so as to speed up the approval process. Troubleshoot creative and technical issues. Partner with the lighting supervisor and animation supervisor, to support each other's departmental needs. Able to mentor artists in modeling and texturing techniques.


Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the directors and art director to achieve consistency in high quality.
• Provide leadership, training, team building and motivation for the Modeling team in house and overseas.
• Works with production leadership to develop appropriate solutions to modeling in support of the visual style and narrative of the production and provide information on developments, concerns, and potential problems within the department.
• Assist in simplifications of scripts, breakdowns, and defining production quotas by working with the Art and Assets Manager and the Production Management.
• Work with junior modelers to create proxy models as well as in house fixes to help streamline the production.


Qualifications:
• 3+ years of Television (CG and/or Visual Effects) or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Computer Science, Commercial Arts or other relevant area of study and/or equivalent job experience.
• Demonstrated ability using Maya for the creation of both hard surface and organic models with cartooney style.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems.
• Detail oriented
• A comprehensive understanding of the role of geometry assets throughout the entirety of a CG pipeline.
• Previous supervisory or leadership role overseeing artists and technicians.
• Experience with Polygonal modeling and texturing.
• Excellent Photoshop skills
• Familiarity with mel scripting a plus.
• Able to multi-task, and prioritize daily work.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to work independently, but must also be able to take direction positively.

Executive Producer's Assistant


Candidate must be a highly competent administrator who will work closely with Producers throughout the entire production process. Must be well organized, highly flexible, and possess a good overview of the film production process. Candidate should be willing to work long hours in a demanding, and fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:
Candidate will provide administrative support to the Producer and will be involved in all stages of the production process from pre-production through to post production. Their responsibilities are defined by the Producer, on an almost daily basis. Duties may range from writing coverage on scripts, drafting letters, making phone calls, coordinating and assisting with duties, liaising between the producer and the production team, and helping to prepare publicity materials. Candidate may also arrange business meetings and keep schedules.


Skills:
Candidate must have a keen interest in the business of filmmaking, and an eagerness to gain further experience. They should have strong planning and organizational abilities, combined with good communication and interpersonal skills, and efficient in time management. They need to be confident and enthusiastic when communicating in person or on the telephone, have excellent clerical skills, a good work ethic, and a strong sense of loyalty and responsibility. Candidate must be highly computer literate, skilled in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, with excellent word processing and e-mail abilities. Script reading skills, experience with script writing software, and knowledge of the film industry is an advantage.


Qualifications/Experience:
No specific qualifications are required for this multi-tasking role; however industry experience in Assistant Direction or in the Production Department, is advantageous. Experience in reading screenplays and writing coverage a plus.

Entry-Level Programmer


Our studio produces a successful 3D animated television show for a children's television network. We are looking to fill an entry-level position that will involve both programming and some front-line support our in-house production application. This is a position with enormous growth potential for the right candidate.

The 3D process is complicated and requires tracking of art and virtual assets, related versions, connections between types of files, etc. Our studio works with (and ships digital assets to and from) four different overseas studios. The job entails helping to automate this work - to provide tools to artists as well providing accurate reporting (on progress, inventory, shipping, etc).

The environment is friendly, informal, energetic, creative, and extremely hardworking. We're looking for a practical and good-humored person who genuinely enjoys not only technical problem solving but also interaction with end-users. The job is a programming position, but you will also need to do training/support or meet with a department to help spec out or revise a tool.

Please have programming skills (preferably in Java, CS degree preferred), and be generally well-rounded with your technical skills.
